Dickinson, N.D. – CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson Medical Center will implement a “no visitor” policy at its hospital and clinic locations beginning today, Thursday, April 2 at 12 Noon (MDT). This move comes in response to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the region and state.
CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson has been limiting the number of visitors to its hospital unit in recent weeks while also implementing enhanced screening efforts of all visitors. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of patients and staff, CHI St. Alexius Dickinson made the decision to move to a “no visitor” policy starting April 2nd to reduce potential spread of the Coronavirus.
“Moving to a ‘no visitor’ policy is the best and most judicious decision we can make on behalf of patients as well as staff,” said William Ermann, president of CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson. “We recognize with the spread of COVID-19 related cases in our region, limiting traffic in our facility is the right thing to do in order to limit potential exposure.”

Exceptions to the No Visitor Policy in Dickinson include:
- Labor/delivery patient (limited to one labor partner)
- Postpartum infant (limited to two parents/guardians)
- Pediatric/minor patient (limited to one parent/guardian)
- Dependent adult needing special assistance from a support person (as determined by the care team)
- Patient receiving end-of-life care (number to be determined by the care team)
