Applebee’s announces its 2018 Apple Award Scholarship winners

Fargo, ND (May 23, 2018) —  Applebee’s has named the 2018 Apple Award Program Scholarship winners, each of whom will receive a $1,000 scholarship to the college of his or her choice. The awards, presented under franchise owner Apple Core Enterprises recognize outstanding North Dakota and western Minnesota high school seniors who demonstrated excellence in academic achievement and community enrichment.
The 2018 Apple Award Scholarship winners are: Jessica Kesler, Minot, N.D.; Wesley Kemp, Cavalier, N.D. and Keringten Lee, Maddock, N.D.

“It has always been our organization’s mission to give back to the communities we serve. The Apple Award program allows us to recognize students who share that vision and have positively impacted their neighborhoods,” said Dusty Jensen, Apple Core Enterprises chief operating officer. “We are honored to help students access the educational opportunities that will allow them to continue to contribute to our community.”

Educators, parents and community members were invited to nominate high school seniors in their area. Each monthly winner received a $25 Applebee’s gift card, and became eligible to receive one of three $1,000 scholarships. The winners were chosen based on academic achievement, as well as an essay describing how they have contributed to their community.

Apple Core Enterprises is the operator of 23 Applebee’s Grill and Bar restaurants including 12 across North Dakota and western Minnesota. These restaurants are located in Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot, Williston, Devils Lake, Bismarck, Dickinson and Jamestown, N.D., as well as Fergus Falls, Minn.
